Research

The Inflammation Research Center (CRI) brings together nearly 250 researchers, clinicians, engineers, and students around a common objective: to better understand the mechanisms of inflammation and fibrosis in order to develop new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches. The CRI comprises 12 research teams accredited by INSERM, Université Paris Cité, and CNRS, in close collaboration with AP-HP, and constitutes a major player in the FHU INFIRE. Based primarily on the Bichat Hospital campus, it has state-of-the-art technological platforms in imaging, proteomics, electron microscopy, biochemistry, and preclinical models. Its work focuses particularly on the identification of new pathophysiological mechanisms, the development of biomarkers and imaging tools, as well as the search for new therapeutic strategies in inflammatory and fibrotic diseases.

The Laboratory for Vascular Translational Science (LVTS – UMRS 1148) is a research center dedicated to the study of vascular diseases through a transdisciplinary and translational approach. Its work aims to improve understanding of the mechanisms involved in cardiovascular diseases in order to develop new diagnostic, prognostic, and therapeutic approaches. LVTS brings together nearly 220 researchers, clinicians, engineers, and students affiliated with Inserm, Université Paris Cité, and Sorbonne Paris Nord University. The laboratory relies on state-of-the-art technology platforms in genetics, molecular and cellular biology, biomaterials, and multimodal imaging. Organized into six thematic teams, LVTS research covers, in particular, cardiovascular immunobiology, atherothrombosis, bioengineering, cardiovascular imaging, and the mechanisms of thrombo-inflammation and neurovascular repair. The laboratory is also strongly involved in national and international collaborations.
